Hello everyone!

It's me, Choon Hian here, blogging on the PA Crew Blog for the very first time!

I hope all members will constantly check back here! Official PA Crew Updates will be posted here! :)

Here's the Term 3 Duty Roster! Do take note that it is rather different from last time because it goes by WEEK instead of by DAY. :)

Things Are To Be Used And People Are To Be Loved

"While a man was washing his new car, his 4 yr old son picked stone & scratched lines on the side of the car.

In anger, the man took the child's hand & hit it many times, not realizing he was using a wrench.

At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures. When the child saw his father.... with painful eyes he asked 'Dad when will my fingers grow back?'

The man was so hurt and speechless. He went back to car and kicked it a lot of times.
Devastated by his own actions..... . Sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches, child had written 'LOVE YOU DAD'.

Anger and Love have no limits; choose the latter to have a beautiful & lovely life....
Things are to be used and people are to be loved,

But the problem in today's world is that people are used and things are loved."

A classroom full of first year Veterinary students were participating in their first day of anatomy class. For the lecture, the professor begins by unveiling a dead cow under a white sheet laying on an operating table.

The professor tells the class “In Veterinary Medicine, there are two qualities you must possess as a doctor - the first of which is a strong stomach. You cannot, under any circumstance, be disgusted by anything involving an animal’s body.”

For example, the Professor pulls back the sheet and sticks his finger right up the dead cow’s butt, pulls out his finger and sticks it in his mouth. The students just standthere, paralyzed at what they see. “Now, go ahead and do the same thing, each of you,” the professor says. Freaked out, the students take several minutes but eventually take turns sticking their fingers up into the anal cavity of the dead cow, and then sucking on them. Once everyone is finished, the Professor continues on with his lesson… “Now, the second important quality you must possess is a keen observation. You see, I stuck in my middle finger up the cow’s butt, and I sucked on my index finger… Now, learn to pay attention.”

The moral: Life’s tough, but it’s even tougher when you’re stupid.

I have decided to start a series of moral blogs about teaching about morals and ethics related closely to VJC PA Crew.

Lesson 1: Punctuality

A priest was being honored at his retirement dinner after 25 years in the parish. A leading local politician and member of the congregation was chosen to make the presentation and to give a little speech at the dinner.

However, the politician was delayed, so the priest decided to say his own few words while they waited.

"I got my first impression of the parish from the first confession I heard here. I thought I had been assigned to a terrible place. The very first person who entered my confessional told me he had stolen a television set and, when questioned by the police, was able to lie his way out of it. He had stolen money from his parents, embezzled from his employer, had an affair with his boss's wife, taken illegal drugs, and gave VD to his sister. I was appalled."

The shocked crowd murmered their disapproval of the miscreant among them.

"But," the old priest continued, "as the days went on I learned that my people were not all like that and I had, indeed, come to a fine parish full of good and loving people."

Just as the priest finished his talk, the politician arrived full of apologies at being late. He immediately began to make the presentation and gave his talk:

"I'll never forget the first day our parish priest arrived," he told the crowd, still at sharp attention after the priest's words. "In fact, I had the honor of being the first person to go to him for confession...."

The Moral: Never, ever be late when you're on the program.

2nd Feb - 6th Feb: Orientation
Will confirm details and duties when i get more information. (SCs are super slow)

4th Feb: CCA Walkabout
2pm-5pm
Outdoor sound, probably 4 speakers or more. Shall confirm next week with the rest of you guys.

6th Feb: Orientation Day 5-Sea Carnival
Report in school at 5.30am! (Sorry about it being so early, first bus leaves at 6.00am)
Those of you unable to make it can choose to reach EAST COAST PARK at 6.30.(Inform me first! I can't have everyone running to ECP) Will be setting up 2 systems, so probably 6 speakers. Transport provided will make a few trips to and fro school to transport the equipment. However, one person in the end must come back to school for assembly, then go to ECP only after that. More details I will post next week.

Recruiting people is very important this year. So, we should do a good job during CCA walkabout, and do an even better job during sea carnival =) Jia You!!!

Don't Mess With Kids

One day a 6 year old girl was sitting in a classroom. The teacher was going to explain evolution to the children.
The teacher asked a little boy: Tommy do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky.
TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the sky.
TEACHER: Did you see God?
TOMMY: No.
TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see God because he isn't there. He doesn't exist.

A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions. The teacher agreed and the little girl asked the boy: Tommy, do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yessssss (getting tired of the questions by this time).
LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky?
TOMMY: Yessssss
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see the teacher?
TOMMY: Yes
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?
TOMMY: No
LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we were taught today in school, she must not have one!

Chain Saw

Bubba decided it was time to purchase a new saw to help clear his heavily timbered property. A salesman showed him the latest model chain saw and assured him that he could easily cut three or four cords of wood per day with it. But the first day, Bubba barely cut one cord of wood. The second morning he arose an hour earlier and managed to cut a little over one cord. The third day he got up even earlier but only managed to achieve a total of 1 ½ cords of wood.

Bubba returned the saw to the store the next day and explained the situation.

"Well", said the salesman, "let’s see what’s the matter." He then pulled the cable and the chain saw sprang into action.

Leaping back, Bubba shouted, "What the heck is that noise?"

Talking Clock

Proudly showing off his new apartment to a couple of his friends late one night the drunk led the way to his bedroom where there was a big brass gong.

"What's that big brass gong for?" one of the guests asked. "It's not a gong. It's a talking clock" the drunk replied.
"A talking clock? Seriously?" asked his astonished friend.
"Yup" replied the drunk.
"How's it work?" the second guest asked, squinting at it.
"Watch" the man said. He picked up a hammer, gave it an ear shattering pound and stepped back.
The three stood looking at one another for a moment. Suddenly, someone on the other side of the wall screamed "You friggin' IDIOT!...it's ten past three in the morning!"

Secrets of a Monk

A man is driving down the road and his car breaks down near a monastery.

He goes to the monastery, knocks on the door, and says, “My car broke down. Do you think I could stay the night?”

The monks graciously accept him, feed him dinner, and even fix his car. As the man tries to fall asleep, he hears a strange sound. A sound unlike anything he’s ever heard before. The Sirens that nearly seduced Odysseus into crashing his ship comes to his mind. He doesn’t sleep that night.

He tosses and turns trying to figure out what could possibly be making such a seductive sound. The next morning, he asks the monks what the sound was, but they say, “We can’t tell you. You’re not a monk.” Distraught, the man is forced to leave.

Years later, after never being able to forget that sound, the man goes back to the monastery and pleads for the answer again.

The monks reply, “We can’t tell you. You’re not a monk.”

The man says, “If the only way I can find out what is making that beautiful sound is to become a monk, then please, make me a monk.”

The monks reply, “You must travel the earth and tell us how many blades of grass there are and the exact number of grains of sand. When you find these answers, you will have become a monk.”

The man sets about his task.

After years of searching he returns as a gray-haired old man and knocks on the door of the monastery. A monk answers. He is taken before a gathering of all the monks.

“In my quest to find what makes that beautiful sound, I travelled the earth and have found what you asked for: By design, the world is in a state of perpetual change. Only God knows what you ask. All a man can know is himself, and only then if he is honest and reflective and willing to strip away self deception.”

The monks reply, “Congratulations. You have become a monk. We shall now show you the way to the mystery of the sacred sound.”

The monks lead the man to a wooden door, where the head monk says, “The sound is beyond that door.”

The monks give him the key, and he opens the door. Behind the wooden door is another door made of stone. The man is given the key to the stone door and he opens it, only to find a door made of ruby. And so it went that he needed keys to doors of emerald, pearl and diamond.

Finally, they come to a door made of solid gold. The sound has become very clear and definite. The monks say, “This is the last key to the last door.”

The man is apprehensive to no end. His life’s wish is behind that door!

With trembling hands, he unlocks the door, turns the knob, and slowly pushes the door open. Falling to his knees, he is utterly amazed to discover the source of that haunting and seductive sound…

But, of course, I can’t tell you what it is because you’re not a monk.

Well, it has been 1 year and about 7 months since I've been in PA, probably 4 weeks less than the amount of time I have spent in VJ. This post goes out to all the crew members of 2007 and 2008.Below is the list of acknowledgements and thanks that come from me.The list goes in no particular order.JJ: For being a president, a grandma, and a stylist for the image of the crew. YY: For being such a pushover that we can get you to do stage every time we don't feel like going down, and of course, for not converting the rest of us into gay activists. (And we are all still straight! Yay!)Chia Weei: For keeping the accounts, not embezzling the funds and the ground sheets. (Erm, you didn't embezzle right?)JunRu: For being the first appointed Fatimah. (At least you work harder than Maria)Yuan: For compiling the hours, collecting the reports and sleeping in the control room so that me and Mr Yeo can have some practice on how to steal and hide handphones. Shouyi, Wanglu and Xingchan: For being the 'disciples' of YY in lights, handling Chinese drama and occasionally dissing Linsen. ( I combined the 3 of you because I see no point in repeating myself later)Linsen: For doing the menial work, the spotlight and setting the record of carrying 7 drain covers to the track. (That record is still unbeaten, partly because we only have 7 drain covers)Yangle: For performing the duties required of you, in silence. (It is kind of freaky if you're not used to it; she does morning assembly in total silence)Janel: For being the welfare head that didn't really do much, ditching rock climbing and placing yourself in the possibility of ditching photog also.Kai Liang: For being in air rifle so we didn't need to get a reticle for you, trying to kill yourself by joining PA on top of 2 sports CCAs, and using my right-handed set-up. (You're just plain lazy to change it, aren't you)Xinying: For either not being there or doing nothing when you're there. (Nothing much I can say there)Chong Wai: For leading a crew that might possibly just screw up because no one has any practical experience, and being willing to carry this black wok.Yu Min: For being the other person who has to carry the black wok and providing occasional gossip material of having an affair with her (only) superior.Wei Xiao and Chen Wei: For being the first PRC pair in recorded PA history (which for your information, is not a very long time) and the tickle-one-and-get-two-people-tickled policy.Chee Yann: For hiding in the iComm room rather than the PA room.Mun Wee: For all the times I have to comfort you when you break down, and finally getting a Binary Output Yeti Faintly Resembling Electronic Investigational New Drug so that I don't have to continue to be mistaken as something I cannot become. (I couldn't and didn't tell them, but if they're smart, they'll figure it out. It's not terribly hard)Actually, come to think of it, it did come in a certain order. Hey crew,

It has been a long time since i posted anything or visited this place so yea, just thought i would post something on this miraculous night which i made myself swear i will sleep before 12. Anyway, mid-years are over and with our results, all of us saw the good, the bad, the ugly. I hope all of you are somewhat happy with your results.(I know i am definitely not.)

So anyway, i just wanna say something. For those of you who are set on quitting PA, i wish you guys all the best in whatever you embark on in the future. I know that you guys are really stressed and seriously i really feel it's ok if you quit. Just 加油 and hopefully you guys can now concentrate on your other CCAs ok! For those of you who are staying, i think alot of us should start to mug more already, with the looming promos exams. I guess it;s just a few more weeks and then we should have no more events, so just hang in there and then after then go on some mugging spree. To the seniors, GOODLUCK for your A level exams and yea, maybe it might be kind of early but yea might as well say first if not i might forget later.

Ya, so thats abt enough rambling from me for now bah. 加油 everyone! Work Hard!

I just though I'd ramble for a bit here today since I just studied for 6 hours in the afternoon. Such dedication deserves reward, no?I've just discovered the joy of audiobooks today, and i managed to get my hands on a few and loaded them into my iPod. I initially thought they were a lazy man's alternative to reading. Well, I still stand by that point. It's been, what, 6 years since I've had a stories read to me? I used to listen to the CDs my mom brought home for her lessons at the British Council. Sherlock Holmes. Those were really good times.Anyway, now that work is starting to pile up and I'm beginning to embark on the road of intensive studying, there simply isn't time for the simple pleasures in life - like reading a book. So what better way to get around this problem than listening to a story being read aloud to you?Literature is food for the soul. Well, not really since I can survive without reading...but that's not important here. Besides I'm not really partial to great literary classics like Dickens and his pals in afterlife. Self-improvement books, fantasy/sci-fi novels, and mystery thrillers are more my type. Not Harry Potter though, went downhill starting from the Order of the Phoenix.What did you say? Romance Novels?*grimace* People actually READ those things? I shudder at the concept of the idea.Boy meets girl, boy likes girl, girl likes boy, boy and girl are separated by some circumstance, boy and girl pine for each other, boy and girl suffer in misery...blah blah blah. Same old, same old. I mean, they could try to get back together instead of squatting in the corner and emo-ing, right? Right!Now, the fantasy genre appeals to me, but the storyline of "farmer's son is actually the long lost heir to the throne and saves the world" storyline is getting a little stale. I mean, why do most fantasy books involve royalty anyway? Are they THAT integral to the plot that the whole book will fall apart without them? Why couldn't they involve like a, I dunno, city council or something? Maybe a Prime Minister, or even a President?I think this is enough griping from me...yep. I'll see you guy 'round.Blackmage

The Day of Piano Concert

This is written on the day of piano concert. My kid sis figured that it would be fun to call me during the concert rehearsal. Explains the amplified piano in the background.Apparently, she roped in Mr Ueng to speak to me. Hearing an alien voice (I don't call him often), I thought she crashed James house again for the god-knows-what-time-maybe-he-has-lost-track time and got him to push his voice lower. Then she tells me Chong Wai has something to tell me, when we all (at least him and me) know that we either talk in-person or over MSN. Phone calls are expensive.Tell me about having nothing better to do.Really, send her for PT if she has nothing to do. Actually, you all should go for PT if you have nothing better to do. Helps you pass NAPFA next year.James, if you are still tracking this, do me a favour and control her a bit. I have been informed (by who else) about what you are doing with the Cedarians, Photog and Ben Neo. I'll be playing my part with the crew and my class, which happens to have Ben Neo included. (the hula hoop went up, up and up!) supposedly learn for a person to take a leadership role, use creative methods, working as a team, having fun together, trying all sorts of new ideas, etc. etc. etc.There wasn't much time for other games as we started the whole thing off quite late. And no, we didn't dunk Chong Wai for those of you curious to know.First, and foremost, the greatly anticipated PHOTOGRAPHS! Chong Wai, I swear your face was twice as shiny after the free treatment!!! =DAs some of you know, Chong Wai was against a cake fight. So we obediently agreed not to waste the delicious cake and fill up our stomachs with it. First Day of CT2

Well this is the end of the first day of CT2, aka Mid Years.All J2s in PA had 2 papers today, GP and Econs. Very bad for anyone who is wired for logic processing (as in 1 OR 0 = 1). I came out of the paper alive. Given that luck in on my side, I probably can scrape 6 E's through this whole ordeal.The new tech spec hasn't looked for me yet, and should continue to do so until CT2 is over. I wouldn't mind it if he doesn't come look for me at all either. Really.Oh, and if you guys still want to continue soldering as part of your scope of duties, i would suggest a purchase of this tool called a third hand soldering tool. Get me one piece if anyone is buying.Also, I found this article on powering LEDs with only a half-dead 1.5V battery. (Apparently, it's better to use half-dead ones than new ones. So Mr Yeo's MP3 batteries can be used!) If you guys are interested, I can place the link online, since it is better to custom make them (read DIY). I'm not placing much hope that anyone will take up the task though. Personally, I will be making some for my own use.That should be all for now.

I am feeling quite bored today, so I'd thought I come up with something here. And Dark Dragon, if you're reading this, have fun.As many of you know, I have many quirks, one of which is googling people I know. Just so that I can know how to handle them when the time comes. Some people are more prominent than others. Certain names are just more common. And of course, when the hits come up in a blog, you know you've struck gold.Which brings me back to the main point of this entry. For reasons unknown, I have been identified on another blog as KiWi's senior and apparently am supposedly involved with her. This journal (I'm guessing) is still being tracked by the very person who made that public in his blog. For his benefit, I shall refrain from identifying him outright, but as some of you already know, I have been tagging on his cBox. Enjoy yourselves reading our exchange, if you can remember the url. To the blog owner, I would like to remind you that the encryption provided by blogspot is nothing but a smokescreen that if nothing else, wastes your money. It takes nothing more than someone with nothing better to do under 3 mins to by pass that. Well, my phone got spammed the day she read the post on 19 May 2008. (For the record, my phone is still sometimes being spammed)As if I need more fuel in the gossip, this pops up from KiWi: "do me a favour, can u dun go bother jx? he's really a very nice, caring brother..." Don't bother looking using that phrase above. I tried. It returned nothing. And she read what he typed, missed out a few words, and came to the conclusion that her dear daughter has a boyfriend and this boyfriend has a competitor. What's more, the competition is fierce. See what not reading the whole thing can do to you...I guess it all boils down to how each of us interacts with different people. I can't blame anyone who thinks it is, but I get pretty pissed when they think otherwise after I told them what is really is. Can they not accept platonic friendships? Or perhaps they think it is impossible for these things to happen? But what is impossible is really what the society deems impossible, isn't it? It was supposed to be impossible to break the 5-min barrier; 9 year-olds were not supposed to pass the O levels; kids were thought incapable of killing others. Yet, all of those happened. Give me a proper reason why then, the friendship is impossible.Yes, I understand that the standard of writing has degraded into ranting by now. I think this illustration is most meaningful.
It took me quite long to create and I'm proud of it.
The PT.
Perhaps the place where we spent most of our time as a crew together, going through jubilations and screw-ups as one crew during the various events.
My inspiration for this illustration is from Dance 08,
which was my very first Performance PT event with the 25th PA Crew.
The view is from the back of stage looking up towards the PT control room. The people who are showcased in this illustration are Mun Wee, the IC for dance. She's sitting on the centre of the stage. Next to her is Wei Xiao. Faintly showcased on the seats are Kailiang and myself - we're sitting at different seats with slight distance apart from each other. And Chongwai's in the control room, in case ya didn't know heh :D

I will be creating more of such illustrations,
I'm a design freak :D

We seniors are finally officially known as ex PA members! Actually it's quite nostalgic when I think back about the hectic schedules of PA duties in J1. I guess the only regret I had was being lazy in learning the PA stuffs =x So juniors please try to learn as much as you can right now, because I'm definitely sure you will regret if you do not do so.

Anyway, it was a really enjoyable JTS on Tuesday, and it's really the first time I interacted most with you juniors ( I was too tired during the march camp ). Thank you to the organisers of the JTS and it was really a huge success :D

Finally, the day is coming!As I type, the time for stepping down is approaching.The last thing for me in PA left is the load the techspec with manuals, and for YY, it's to make sure that the next lightsmaster can actually master the lights.You guys really are lucky to have your speeches before those of iComp and SGC. Those interviews are out to kill... Example: (SGC) I see that you have some changes that you want to make to the club. It is thus evident that you are not exactly happy with the state of the club now. Identify the exco member that you think is the root cause of it and tell us what he/she is doing wrong.It would have been fun to shoot all those running for president with this question.As far as I am concerned, I have only 1 interview left for SGC, which I think will most likely be held on either Thursday or Friday. The exco has been decided already though, so the rest of us will have fun grilling them.The hols are coming, and with that, my NS check up and CT2. Damned. 2 tests in 1 month.For the uninitiated, NS check up also includes a test on your math. Until something more post-worthy comes along, this should be all for now.With this post, my total post count goes to 6. Apparently, this is the official PA blog. Yet again found on one of my random web trawls. Some will be familiar.
It's dead for some time already (the last post was Nov last year), so I'm not sure if anyone is still maintaining it.

Anyway, the exco elections are over, and that means in about a week's time, I, and the rest of the 24th, can finally step down! It's about time too. Don't worry, I think YY and I will go up still, so you won't really miss either of us. But, we will have to go for assembly still. Our bags are much safer in the lightroom.

Can't disclose anything about the elections. You guys will have to wait for JJ to announce that, but I believe it won't be too soon, seeing that he got an MC for his throat and flew us kite today. (Beware of YuAn, JJ. You have incurred her wrath.)

And if anyone noticed, the tags by the side are indicating how active you are in this journal. The larger your tag, the more posts you have contributed. As of this post, my tag will be larger than YY since I have 1 more post than him. Marginal victory.

Hi everyone! Its been too long since I've posted. Mostly because of my laziness, haha. I'm here now because my physics lecturer has taken ill and hence physics lecture has been replaced by a movie-watching session. That's when i decided to come here before complex numbers to slack a while and look at the blog and forum.Enough said. PA Exco election results are going to be out soon, so i just wanna say something as the vice-president before i have to hand over.You guys (and gals) have been such wonderful people, and i'll always look back at this part of my life with fond memories of my fellow crewies slaving away in the control room with me. It made life that much more meaningful to have you people around. I couldn't ask for better companions and compatriots.We headed off to a rocky start, partly because our seniors (the 23rd) just threw us in the deep end and expected us to dig our way out. There's a saying that what doesn't kill you just makes you stronger.How apt.Together, we managed to get our stuff right,and came out tested by fire. Sure, we stumbled along the way. Hell, I'd say we even fell flat on our faces once or twice. But now, I see that people are saying less bad things about the crew. I would like to believe that our batch had a hand in remaking the image of the crew.Professionalism, outstanding service, and committed. That's what we are.Outside the control room, we've also managed to build friendships. PA Crew is a small CCA. And we're all like one big family (with JJ as the family MATriarch). Ha, sorry couldn't help it.I'd also like to take this chance to apologize to anyone I've unknowingly manage to insult. I have this penchant for saying things people don't want to hear. Hello! Looks like the slew of posts have died down eh? It's a busy week. And Exco Elections are going to start soon. How exciting. Oh I have to blog about this. My class trashed Chong Wai's class in Captain's Ball yesterday during PE. It was amazing because they fielded three guys and my team only had one (and no, it's not me). Today's parent meet teacher seminar duty is really damn xian de lar~ They were only using one mics and projector at LT5 ,like normal lecture , but they still asked 2 pa member to come down.we sat there and stone for 2 hours +++.At one point we really xian dao thinking of uncoiling all the drums in the control room and re-coil it. It is really the slackest event that i have done before .we sat there staring at each other doing nothing lor.haha but lucky i came lar if not it will be even more boring for germaine.:) good thing is only 2 hoursyu min

I am a rather forward and blunt person with (unfortunately) a rather limited vocabulary. Therefore, I apologise before hand if I offend anybody.

Must thank Wei Xiao for this blog such that we can air our own views and do some organising for events here.

Back to the topic,
this post is regarding JTS, T-Shirt Design, a proposed duty roster and bonding camp.

As you can probably all feel, the enthusiasm for JTS and T-Shirt design has probably died down a lot.
However, as an enthuist (thanks to YM, J, ZZ n WX), I'm going to try to hype it up again.

To make known to eveybody, the main organisers are:
JTS: Yu Min and Janel
T-Shirt: Wei Xiao and Chong Wai

For JTS, the three main problems faced now are food (we have 2 vegetarians and a muslim in our midst.), venue and the time to hold it.
Anyone who knows where to get great vegetarian food and halal food, please inform the main organisers so as to assist them in their quest for a JTS!
Also, as we have to cater to the vegetarians and Mr Elfie, Yu Min and I have thought of an alternative, which is to have a pot luck cum bbq such that we can set aside food for them.
Regarding venue, for anyone who knows any possible and interesting venue, once again, please inform the main organisers. This is important as we need a venue to hold the JTS. Unless you all prefer school as the venue =D
I propose creating a poll such that we can come up with different food plans and you all can vote for the most preferable way to hold the event. We can also do the same with the venue, this would allow us to cater to the majority preference! So please, come up with ideas and email the main organisers.
For the date, I am creating a poll soon. (Once I figure out how livejournal works >.< IT noob here.)

For T-shirt design, I propose that we each submit a design. After all, 24 brains are better than 6! (Ya, inclusive of the seniors.) So, lets all be more enthusiastic and submit a design each to Chong Wai or Wei Xiao. That way we would have more variety and who knows your design might be selected.
Haha, must also let them know the price you all are willing to pay, and assist them in finding shops to print the design. :)

Now, to another VERY IMPORTANT TOPIC IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR FELLOW CREW MEMBERS TO FAINT IN SCHOOL DUE TO EXHUASTION!

I propose coming up with a duty roster and if no strong and violent objection reaches me by next week, I am coming up with one which you would all have to follow as silence would mean consent. (Ok, usually it isn't, but since I've stated it here, no objection that reach my ears would mean that you have consented.)

More to the duty roster.
    Should the i/c be unable to find people to come for duty, they can then use the duty roster to get people to come down. This is also to ensure that our crew members are not overworked.
    Basically, this duty roster is just a continuous long repititve list of names.
    For Example we have A,B,C,D in the whole crew, the list would be something like 1.A 2.B 3.C 4.D 5.A 6.B 7.C 8.D etc..
    So, for each time we have to come down, the people whose name are on the top of the list would have to come down. Their names on the top of the list would be removed.
    For example, if the event needs 3 people, the top 3 names on the list (using the same example A, B and C) would have to come down for duty. Regardless of whether they are actually doing the event, the top 3 names would be removed from the list. (leaving behing a new list 1.D 2.A 3.B 4.C 5.D 6.A 7.B 8.C etc.)
    If your name is not on the list and you are unable to make it for the event, you are responsible for finding a replacement. For example, you can make a trade off with someone else such that when his name next appear on the list, you will come down in his place.
    For example, if A cannot make it for this event and D is willing to replace him, D will do the duty for the event. Should D be unable to make it for duty on the next round, A would have to replace her/him, depending on whatever agreement they make between themselves. (in this case, it - after all alphabets do not have gender do they?).
    Also, Please inform the i/c of any arrangements made between yourselves.
   Those who are unable to make it and do not find replacements are deemed irresponsible and should they do it thrice, they would become an ex-member of PA. Also, such exchange are limited to five times a year. This is due to the pitiful 12 member crew we now have and to close the loop hole of people who keep on getting others to do duty and do not do come down for duty themselves.
   I understand that we all have our own outside responsibilities and we come to school to study and not do PA duty, but have you ever considered how unfair it is for those who continually skip classes and return home late to do duty? Please try to put yourselves in our shoes. I understand that PA might not be your first priority like me but to let others do duty for weeks continuously is not fair and exhaustive. Also, Chen Wei, Yu Min, Wei Xiao, Chong Wai and I are behind in our academics especially due to the fact that we have missed at least 3 Friday's lessons (from 1025h onwards mind you, and our lessons at 1700h and include project work) in a row. This is entirely horrible!

So in conclusion, if there is no violent objections by next week (16 May 2008), the list will be in place by then and I volunteer to update it continuously. (Cause looking at me, yu min, wei xiao and chen wei, I can only shake my head helplessly.) (At the same time, I cannot stand it that we have a lot of trouble getting people other than the 5 of us to do duty leaving the 5 of us exhausted.)

Off to another topic: Bonding Camp
As you all know, the camp the seniors came up with during the March Holidays is 90% purely a training camp. I figured I don't know some of you well at all and those I know were only through shared working experienced and you all probably don't know me well either, so I propose a 2-day June Camp for all of us to enjoy and get to know each other better. After all team work between all of us is very important so how about organising it? Any objections for it?
I will create a poll for you all to vote. (If it happens, seniors, you are welcome to join in the fun.) If the majority shares my view, I will create a second poll regarding the date.

This is a really long post, done throughout the Chinese Orchestra Concert when the emcees are not speaking. I am sorry Chong Wai but I won't get to type this at home. Sorry for not being focus this time round.

Hello everyone! Glad to see everyone interacting well and making full use of this journal =)And wei xiao, it's okay to have eng and chi de. One ting abt our crew is that somehow it's always full of chinese ppl =x Not being racist or anything but so far dun tink got non-chinese member in the crew before. Anw, my point is use whatever language that suits u ba. I like using singlish and i'm using it. heheOh ya, i'm here to tok about PA annual Election 2008, one of the most important events in the crew other than JTS =pLet me talk about JTS later. Priority is elections.The Executive Election 2008 will be held next Tuesday on the 13th May. Despite the number 13, i'm quite sure the day's a Tuesday and not a Friday so dun nid worry much about it being unlucky and stuff. It will start at 5.40 when everyone has gathered and are prepared to give and listen to speeches. Please be punctual so that we can start the election as soon as possible. Everyone is strongly encouraged to participate in this election and there might be new posts coming out. Check back this space for new updates.For those who are running, please prepare a short 5 min speech that hopefully won't bore all of us like how the SC elects bore us.The venue for the election speeches has not been decided yet but I'll update the venue here so check the journal regularly and while u are checking, it would be nice to write one or two posts at the same time. However, please remember to sign off or else the rest of the crew might have to play guessing game =xOh ya, regarding JTS, the seniors are not really veri tiao di(picky) one. Finally, CT invertiture is over.... Big screw-up in LT5..... we forgot to give them condenser mics when they are singing, so no sound was sent to LT5.but it is still ok lar because it seems like no one was interested in what is going on in the pt ,everyone was busy mugging.haha... i doubt they notice it. Eh Crews, we should really start planing JTS and get our crew's tee done liao la.but to find a place that can cater veg food and suit the taste of all the seniors is really a problem.SIGH~ never mind we will get it solved anyhow.oh ya, just to tell u all that the pizza we ate and enjoyed on sports day is not only from Mr Yeo but Mr Kwok and Mr Ueng also helped to share out the cost. we shall get the crew's tee done asap ok? so that we can take a family photo wearing our own crew shirt.yeah, sounds cool..... oh yah, here goes the announcement~~
i v bought one pair of earplug from don know name army shop.....its jus 60 cents so jus by for fun~~ n stage people pls make conscious effort in protecting ur eardrums by wearing it and also show appreciation towards my 60 cents....haha the latter is not the point, the former is the point, cos everytime stage pple complain to chong the mon too loud and they r going deaf....
but another concern is will it affect us wearing cans???don know......... i jus know ear studs sux when u wear cans. i hv to take off them unless i wan to get poked by the sharp ends......but resulting in loss of that tiny little thing is also quite normal......i lost two ready......
back to my announcement, i placed the thing at pt control room ready, it is now on top of the spoiled cctv monitor there. i don think there s any hygiene problem if we share it.........but in case u really mind, feel free to tell me n i will buy extra pairs~~

Hello!I went home early from CT Rehearsals. So I wonder how things went. I hope tomorrow's all good, yeah?Anyway.I just wanna use this opportunity to thank every single one of the crew for being there for each other, and really helping one another out. What I'm seeing from you guys is what I hardly see happening in my class, or anywhere else for the matter. You guys are really awesome. Who says only sports teams are close, huh? Well, judging from the amount of time we spend together, crapping and all, I daresay, we all are good, and I really treat PA as my family as well :) Life in college really begins after school. So PA Crew before you come down for any event, make it a point to ask who else are coming down. Quiz and symposium would need only 2 people on average on the actual day and a lot of people. on the taping day. If anyone else have realise, we have been pretty much 'toe ba lei' (reversely applying). So, people please take note.

For those asking people to come down for events, please do reject if there are too many people coming down. Don't feel bad for rejecting them after they have agreed to come. If there are many who agree to come down like dance, (though it's unlikely that this should happen again), learn to reject, tactfully. How to do so? Ask our grandma! =D
Not rejecting some people tactfully, will make some of your crew feel left out and hurt their feelings. In some sense, maybe giving people multiple duties such that they cannot finish their job and ask for help maybe a good idea... >.<

Also, if there are specific time slots that some cannot make it, please do rotate people, so that some of us would not miss a lot of lessons.
Should we come up with a duty roster for events? I don't mind doing one. My parents have been pestering me to...>.< However, I'm having second thoughts about starting it, unless everyone makes a pact to follow it or be as enthu as this blog, it is otherwise rendered useless. (I did one in secondary school, it wasn't effective and was scrapped >.<) --- (seems that our JTS, T-Shirt design are going down the same road. I hope it would not happen to this blog, though it's too early to say.)

Also, please do not leave the switching off of hall system to the current 5 people for the whole year. Please rotate to another 5 after week 3 of term 3. Sharing of experience. =D Especially since I am not sure if all of them stay back to do it due to their strong sense of responsibility and without the 'out of convenience at the same time' part. Also, it would give everyone an opportunity to play with the mixer and system as not everybody will get to play with the mixer often due to the 'specialization' for more effective allocation of resources.

Oops, I'm starting to go economics like Jun Jin, and should kor kor (referring to tribute here) read this post, he is going to shake his head and sigh - "writing essay again... " heehee. Word Count: 392(not including Wei Xiao's comment and this paragraph)

The meal was in preparation. I actually contacted a freelance chef that was able to provide a catering concept. Let me show you proof below. I have copied the latest email out and pasted it here. appears when I need to cancel out certain information from the mail. You will see why I stopped replying after a while. Actually, you can already see it below in orange. Though (s)he sent another email to make the correction, I seriously doubt that with that email that came before, (s)he will be able to tell the difference between the types of vegetarians around. Guess we will have to settle for some proper restaurant then...

The mom had to go to claim a prize to get a lot of money, so she hired a babysitter, because her kids were young, and she was going to be away for a few days. The sitter came on the day of her departure, and since she had never needed a sitter before, she didnt know the house very well.

SO the mom leaves and the kids had dinner later that night. "Ok you can go to bed now" the babysitter said.
"But we ALWAYS have dessert before bed" one of the kids said.

So the babysitter said ok, and asked where the dessert was. The kid said it was in the freezer in the basement. So she went to get it. When she looked up, she saw a guy with an axe standing there.

She said "its ok the alarm is on, nothing will happen" so she got that out of her mind, and went back upstairs to give the kids their dessert. After that, she said, ok go to bed now. so they went to brush their teeth and get ready. When she came to turn off their lights. they said "we ALWAYS have a story before bed" she asked where the stories were, and they said in the basement on the shelf by the fridge.

She went to get it, looked up and saw the guy with the axe out the window again, except this time it had blood on it. Again she assured herself everything was fine. she went upstairs and the kids were murdered. She called the police. A few days later the mom came home and saw the police tape around the house. "where are my kids" she asked. the sitter said-well i went to get them a dessert after dinner,and i saw a guy with an axe through the window, i said it was ok because the alarm was on and everything, so i left it at that.

Then when i went to get them a story, i say the guy with the axe out the window again, except with blood on it. When i went back upstairs, the kids were dead. All the mom said was"What window? We only have mirrors in this house"

Hellooo people! I guess if without this blog I will no longer be blogging in the near future at all. Im sure you people must be feeling curious about the subject yeah! NO MORE BACKVIEWS. WOOHOO. I just came back from dance concert which was really suppperb(: okay straight to the point - PA was invited ONTO the stage for the thanksgiving ceremony, like WOAH right. For once PA members no longer see the backviews of the audience, ( unless you include the backstage people). Sad to say, I only managed to 'perform' on the PT stage that time during one of the musicfest audition preliminary rounds. JX was the only audience. LOL.I shall make use of this chance to remind allll of you (especially MF crew) to HAND IN YOUR REPORTS WITHIN TWO WEEKS AFTER THE CONCERT. It would be appreciated if the teacher-in-charge names are included inside the report. Have a nice weekend :DYUAN

I'll be posting about my life here. If you aren't interested, then go away. You staying? Sure?Okay, if you really want to...I'll begin by saying that H3 is horrible. Hideous. Horrendous. And an all round waste of time. I'm really beating myself over the head, wondering why i ever took this stupid subject. Self-torture, that's what i call it. Ha. Am i ever the masochist. To the little kiddies who are thinking about giving H3 a go, one word.Reconsider.Really. I'm expected to type up a 6 page report of my lab session at NTU the other day. Synthesis of Lidocaine (and by the way, lidocaine is an anesthetic, just in case you didn't know). I wasn't given any lessons on how to write a proper lab report, and now i'm expected to come up with a full length essay, detailing not only what i did, but the chemistry behind what i did. My H3 friends are calling me non-stop asking about this and that. As if i'm not irritated enough already. Life gets difficult when one bites off more can one can chew, it's like feeling your buccal cavity being filled to the brim and your jaws hurt from even trying to chew. H3 really takes up a lot of your time. I can't even go out and buy a new pair of slippers now. But i've slaved and clawed my way through all the lectures and tutorials till now, a little self-praise is what i need to keep myself going.Go yy! You're almost at the finishing line! 加油！加油！Wondrous what a little encouragement can do.Life's getting slightly better in terms of H3 these days. I'm no longer as confused as i used to be when i started out. Things make much more sense, and basically, i can understand the why behind organic chemistry now. But as for synthesis pathways and mechanical arrow-pushing, ha. I still need practice. So a final word to those of you out there thinking about taking H3, only do it if you are willing to give it your all, to make sacrifices and really put in precious time and effort. If not, stick with your H2s. They're more important, anyway.I'll be getting back to explaining why my percentage yield is 135% now!Wish me luck!Blackmage

It was a memorable night for many of the dance ppl and u all nvr let them dwn =D The audience went wild that night and there were only few minor screw-ups that the audience hardly notice. GREAT JOB guys!Oh ya, speaking from the shoes of a senior now, please do not get too complacent after the event. Always learn from the mistakes and improve one event after another. Even though the VJ PA crew is a monopoly in VJ but we are after all a public good. There are many free-riders out there. So take care and dun let your crew members be disadvantaged in anyway. Please, if you are going to act like an idiot, by all means do so. Just don't drag the rest of us down by being an idiot here. I'm not sure where scandals stand, but if you intend to post photos of people, make sure you get their permit. They can actually sue you for using their pictures without permission if they get pissed off enough. Within this week, I have on separate occasions left my pencil case and lecture notes in the PT. The best part is that I only found out after my sister messaged me. Yes, I insist that she is a sister. A kid sister. Now to survive the weekend without lecture notes. Damned. How am I supposed to study for CT2 when my notes are not anywhere near me?! Life sucks when your brain ages faster than it legally is supposed to.It will be wise to note that I do have multiple personalities by choice. It is not a mental disorder but a conscious choice made.
